That same "spammy blue name" has the power to beat defenceless trolls to a bleeding pulp with a ban hammer. I would just be careful not to fall into his "target zone" as I like to call it. :)

Most moderators just don't like it on the front page. I usually don't remove it unless it's just diamond with deco on it, but the moderators that care about it might remove more. It's because they want the game to be used for functional things, the purpose of the game. (Although it can have mutiple purposes). Somthing i (and others too) have always wanted is multiple categories, that way there could be like a front page for art and stuff (also for other things). We don't actually delete the art, just demote it from front page. If an art save is disabled (can't be republished), just tell me and i'll fix it, that has happened before, I hope on accident but i'm not sure.
