    The kerbal and kerbin tags have been present for a number of years. I don't know who added them, but I found them amusing so I let them be.

    the most realistic way is probably to enlarge the planet's core and heat the GMPM to its max temp. This will increase the gravity by a whole lot, and will allow the atmosphere to stick to the planet, instead of floating away.

    you can also increase the gravity of the planet itself so it can hold more atmosphere
