I think using PROP will do the trick EVEN better. Staring with a [insert shape here] of photons like what you said before, go to PROP and then click the ball. (This will open up a menu where you can modify something into its desired chars.)Then either click vx or vy and (For horizontal movement)set the vy to 0 then the vx to either N or -N. For vertical movement, vx=0 and vy=N/-N. For diagonal movement, the same goes... but vx & vy must have a value. Then decorate it(may come before or after the said procedure before this).(N represents the value you choose) That's all.

...Oh, and I placed stamp over stamp multiple times to fill in thr spaces between individual photons for a "sheet" of photons that I then whittled down to my desired shape. (magic)

Warfreak... See below. jingylima2... Pause. Make a ball of photons in the middle of a clear screen. Unpause. Let the photons separate into different directions. Pause. Save one group. Have fun. When you get a stamp for a save from your saved stamps, pressing the R key rotates the photons to go in different directions. Control + R flips the stamp to its' mirror direction. (works with all stamps.) In other words -- MAGIC!!
