    The Korlonians mainly use tachyons for long range communication and teleportation. Not directly interacting with matter or gravity makes them hard to detect. Tachyon weaponry is mainly limited to disrupting very weak shields (like a personal shield for a kitten) or enhancements for lasers that can make them get through rarely used double frequency shields. Even though they are very obsolete and would probably be overloaded by a single shot. Tachyons aren't as exciting as people think.

    Tachyons could also be used for that purpose (If they exist, which is unlikely) Because E=(mc^2)/(sqrt(1-(v^2)/(c^2))) Would make their mass an imaginary quantity, a consequence of this would be that tachyons must always be travelling faster than light. Such a thing would violate causality, however.

    And the universe is expanding faster and faster because of an unknown force called 'Dark energy' which the korlonians discovered is also what makes time pass. And most of the time, you can only observe the past, which can be done many other ways, but some races can actually influence the future which is done in hundreds of different ways.

    Actually, the progression of time has been linked to the expansion of the universe. And it is possible to time travel, but only to observe the past, not to influence it.
