I've found this effect as well, but only AFTER I've applied soap to the objects that the VIRS is attempting to affect. Is there some sort of coding in the game that makes it so that anything that's been touched by soap can't get infected? That's my guess anyway. +1 for bringing it up, himeman.

@EpicSauce777 i guess so

jman31415, afaik, if virus is lit with plasma, it creates a special type of fire (ctype/tmp/tmp2 indicated possibly) which burns VIRS without a problem.
-
Would it be anything to do with it starting off as VRSS instead of VIRS?
-
@BlueComet No.. Water has the same effect.
-
This is kindof off-topic, but could anyone explain exactly how VIRS burns? Because with fire, it doesn't seem to really ignite, but with hotter stuff like PLSM it causes the whole thing to chain-burn until it's all gone, even after the temp goes back to normal FIRE temp. How exactly does that work?

Ah ha! Pipe is not safe from the tyranny of virus.
-
Well, OK, I tested it and that doesn't appear to be it.

Radi0act1ve's idea makes sense. I'm going with that one unless a better one comes up.

nvm ....
