@Nippy: Aloo-min-oom is probably still not.. well screw it. Just use stainless steel.

Its not but they would coat it in a paint like coat so water wont damage it for a while

@Nippy: Iron is an abundant and relatively strong resource. Oil Rigs are above sealevel anyways, and modern oil rigs are in fact floating. The issue is it doesn't corrode like *Spills drink* OH GOD I'VE DOOMED THE SHIP! It corrodes slowly over the span of years. Besides, iron boats are usually coated in water-proof paint. In short, shut up.

i wouldnt create a oil rig out of iron because it would corrode.
