    When I was younger, I used to sit on the beach and stare at these... wondering what they were. Now I know that they're for meltiing down with thermite! Thanks for the information! lol +1

    Suggestion: Today's oil rigs don't actually "stand" in the water, as the immense weight on the legs would cause it to be extremely unstable in the event of a storm, possibly toppling over. Today, they are buoyant, basically being an anchored ship with oil drill on it's underside. (The lowest part of the oil rig is underwater.)
