Best known for its major eruption in AD 79, Vesuvius is a stratovolcano located in the Naples Bay, Italy, being one of the world's most dangerous volcanoes due to more than 3.5 million people living in its hazard zone. It became a national park in 1995.

so u like volcanoes?
-
This needs more destructiveness and a MUCH larger explosion...also most of the top should be blown off.
-
Yeah, Pompeii was buried in ashes so fast that everyone was trapped in so much ash they made hollow statues. I would think the eruption would be big enough to consume it like BAM. But still cool +1
-
I thought Pompeii was buried in seconds?
-
naples is much further away from versuvius then pompeii

Without ash, I've found that C02 is the next best thing. It moves randomly, and slowly falls to the ground. Most of my volcanoes feature CO2 ash clouds like this.

Ulrik54: Something tells me you like volcanoes.
-
Wow. I never expected this to get so popular. THANX!

@TJrox, it would be very hard to create a pyroclastic flow or an ash cloud, considering we don't have the element ASH.
-
Things historically incorrect: 1) Pyroclastic flow not lava flow 2) Almost the entire wountain explodes 3) Ash cloud?...
