    CO4 is a combination of CO2 and C4. It has nothing to do with chemistry. It's just an name.

    A carbon atom has 4 connections, it's in the middle and the 4 oxygen atoms are around attached to it

    CO4? As in four oxygen atoms covalent bonded to a carbon atom, with each pair of oxygen atoms covalent bonded to themselves? I don't think that's possible, as you can't make a triangle with tetrahedrons.
