I coded an element called 'nil' in lua. It completely obliterated the planet in seconds and the screen was still white and filled with chaos for at least 10 minutes. I placed 5 pixels in the oil core by the way :) -

Only the east survived when the sun went supernova, but the oil was all gone after it did so it didn't really matter. -

North, East, and West city ave nuke silos. They filled them up with bombs before realizing that those would explode. As the oil began to catch fire, South city built a wall to keep their oil. The wall broke twice, but was fixed. However, the metal around the oil deposit melted and closed off most of the south's oil supply. They got by for a while, once raiding the ruins of East city before the oil got into their water supply. -

in my version,the world runs on deuterium but the tech deprived bottom city forgot and they invented a neutron deuterium drill and everyone died -

In my version North and East cities are centres of power, with East being slightly more powerful. West town usually rebels and gets destroyed, resulting in a war between South and North for their oil port.
