hmmmm... Ships this large are fairly rare in scifi. I could see it using another reality plane (like subspace, the warp, the thing in ender's game, etc.) to go ftl, but I can't see how it would make a portal that big. However, it could have a monstrous inertialess drive or something to allow it to surpace the speed of light

I might, but warp beams seem incredibly unstable and better left to smaller ships. If there is a way I can stabalize them and make they only hit the enemy target I probably will fit them.
