The Longinus is a 22 m l/12 electromagnetic mass driver, firing projectiles at 90 km/s. Projectiles utilize basic shield technology avoid atmosphereic friction. Only one of these cannons survived the Imperium's fall, and is now an icon of their military.

Weeeeeeell, maybe the Imperium's warships are its ways of saying goodbye. This cannon is their way of saying F@%@ you.

Lol. This is a humongous gun. I love the Imperium way of saying goodbye.
-
Sees gun "Wow, that's cool." Sees teeny tiny people in bunker "0_0!!! THAT'S HUGE!!!"
-
No, I just am observant and clever enough to know that the Imperium would like some mobile firepower.

Are you a mind reader?

I saw it. You know, maybe the Imperium should see if they can salvage and use the damaged Rift. Maybe they could repair and take control of it. It would make a nice addition to what's left of their fleet.

Fragmentation or cluster projectiles would be more effective versus groups of small ships, but this cannon was designed to fire at large capital ships, such as the Rift-Class. If you go the planet Tannus, you can see a Rift-Class' wreck.

Oh wait. This is an Imperium cannon and Aperature is EU. Still, loading a shell with multiple nuclear warheads that arm when the shell breaks apart and detonate on contact would make whoever's attacking Tannus have a very bad day.

If you make a special shell that contained simplified versions of the Aperature Minelayer's mines, you could make a cluster nuke projectile launchable by this cannon.
