What about the question of "What would happen if we simply... to (Lets say the Korlornians...)"? After attaining all possible knowlage WITHOUT warfare and conqoring, there are only so many options, but the question above still stands and logically (for Entropy Unlimited IS controled by a programmed AI [No matter how addaptivly programed it is...]) I will almost certainly decide to answer even the most trivvial of questions if they are closest.
-
Since they demonstrably have no need or desire to conquer other societies, other than in (sometimes preemptive) self-defence, it seems to me that with every question answered, their only logical next step would be to move to another universe and look for new questions. They have little, if anything, to gain by sticking around here ater achieving their goal.
-
Or the simplest solution of all - just don't fight the thing. The existence of a ship like this shows that Entropy Unlimited is nearing the limits of technological possibility. Their stated purpose is to acquire all possible knowledge - if we just leave them to it, with a ship like this they will achieve that goal in a short time.
-
Lol, are we planning to really try something like this???

Or use a shield which shunts incoming fire into another universe or through some odd dimension. Or armour made of neutronium (which can't be compressed) held in shape by force fields (which, for the sake of argument, can't be distorted by gravity), in which case the black holes will be unable to harm our hull in any way (though this may not protect our crew, if any).
-
@Technomancer: Agreed, its not as if the Entropy could manuver around faster than the other ship even with the field, since they both have one, so it would be virtuallly impossible to be hit by the drivers unless you fly in fron of the barrel, which i 4.something million kilomaters...
-
If the control field is taken out of the equation, other defenses against the mass drivers may be effective. Such as not getting hit by them. Approach through hyperspace (for the Clever Maths People, "approach along a dimensional axis which does not intersect the mass drivers' field of fire"!)
-
@Shuddarun it would also have to have enough space procesing cycles to deflect the Mass Driver salvos that would be fired at it.
-
I guess that was also kinda @Death_Silence_66 too...
-
@Technomancer: I wonder if there was a ship, normal sized, that projected a control field with eaqual stangth/area as the Entropy's but with MUCH less size, so you could just fly up to the Entropy without being affected by it's field...
