    Some farmers in the South discover that a plant, called tobacco, gives you a pleasant feeling when you inhale the smoke. Smoking tobacco is less prevelant in my country, as people think smoke = bad, but huge farms pop up everywhere growing this new plant as it can be exported to other countries and draws a very large profit. The huge farms make my expansions each turn larger by X, and my economy is able to handle building Y more stuff.

    My scientests discover the chemicals X, Y and Z. They also figure out that one of the gasses, when compressed and then cooled, makes things burn really hot, and call it oxygen. It is really cumbersome to make liquid oxygen, but it, when mixed with powtar (gunpowder/tar) makes for an impressive explosive.
