I build a ballista that has a thick steel spring that is cranked a bunch. It can then fire 1 javelin every 1.5 seconds, but it can only fire for about 30 seconds before it has to be recranked. It has a lower range and power than my other ballistae, but its rapid fire ability is very useful against large targets like airships. I invite the remaining pony to come and take the body of the other one and give it a proper burial, but I supervise it to make sure that it doesn't attack me.
