How many troops did you train yesterday? I forgot to put them in my spreadsheet, and so I have you down for a total of 5k troops.

Because you sent most of your troops there, the rebels start to push your forces back. They ask for peace.

I retreat to a safe distance from the castle and start to besiege it. Since it looks like I am going to be there a while, I send some colonists over to build a colony

The troops in the fortress dump a strange, hot black liquid on your troops and burns them. They also use what looks like a bow and arrow, but on its side.

I train 4k more troops and send them over to take over the surounding land and to destroy the castle. I also make battering rams

They arrive at the fortress, but the defenses are extremely strong and the guy has 1000 troops.
