    I continue to expand south, and over the horizon, i see huge farms (thomas). We begin to settle around there

    BTW, anyone who controls land in the fertile region gets a massive population boost. ATM, Thomas will have his population nearly double by tomorrow, so grab some of that land before he takes it all!
