The point of this game is to attack cargo ships and gain as much land as possible. (Build a pirate empire!) There are even secret hidden treasures around the islands that you can find!

Kevino, something like that. Imagine if you had just joined late in the game and I gave you a tiny strip of land and 3 ships. You would be attacked immediatly.

So is giving out someone's land without their permission. Just increase the starting ship or something.

Sorry SB I must have forgotten. Kevino, it would be a hassle to erase your land and to to start the new player from scratch. Also, in this advanced stage of the game starting from scratch would be unfair for the new player.

I wanted you to erase my land and ships completely. It's unfair when a completely new player joins and then takes over the entirety of someone else's land.
