I let AtomicKid have the island for now. Is there any way I can raise and repair ships without making another one?

ScienceBoy's ship is badly outgunned. Even so, his crew is doggedly determined to win and refuse to retreat even though the ship is sinking. ScienceBoy's ship is completely destroyed. Also, I think you forgot about the 1 ship per day rule. You have already built a ship today.
