The alien finishes fixing the dome, and asks you if you want it to get rid of the people about to set off the C4 charges on the dome.

i ask the alien for some of its engine and armor technology and ask where it came from and there people (basic culture)

I send a message to the alien thanking him for his kindness. I also use the bases defense system to shoot at the soldiers(the guns, not the rockets!).

By scanning the area with an infrared camera, you see that the alien is drawing energy from the strange asteroid and is using it to heat the dome. When you ask the alien why it is doing so, it says that it is reforming the glass, as it was damaged when the balloon crashed on the dome. Oh, and the soldiers start shooting at the alien, but the bullets glance off.
