    Every single Muslim I know agrees that it is an insult to Allah and Muhammad (peace be upon him) to commit murder in their name. If there was no such religion as Islam, these terrorists would just find another excuse instead.

    The Qur'an says something like, "Whosoever kills a man, it shall be as though he has killed all mankind." No branch of Islam endorses killing, of either other Muslims or of unbelievers - and al-Qaeda, Da'esh and all these other groups are not Muslims. They are psychopaths using a religion that they don't understand as a justification for their own horrendous acts.
