    Firstly, it isn't a 'real' term, in my humble opinion. Rather, it is idiomatic colloquialism that is counter to the correct root designated by classical semantics.

    Yet, I gave a concise and accurate semantical anatomy of the word "hater". Using definitions and rules agreed upon and used widely by professional grammarians of both the prescriptivist and descriptivist 'schools' of grammatical thought. Yet, you cite nothing and simply claim to have the 'correct' definition? *slow clap* I can make wild claims too; clam is now defined as dog.

    I doubt that you know what the term "hater" means. It is not the literal definition of "someone who hates," it is someone that takes pleasure in critisizing others' work. You use quotes and dictionary definitions in an attempt to sound intelligent, but you are utterly failing at it.

The suffix '-er' is used to "used in forming nouns designating persons from the object of their occupation, labor or designating either persons or things from some special characteristic." So the noun 'hater' would literally be 'someone who has an intense dislike'. Ergo, I am not the literal definition of the word 'hater'.
