NuclearPow they did not pull a lever they hit the a-zed which is the scram mechinizam for the rmbk-1000 so when the plant was gooing out of control they attempted to shut down the core but the rods jammed (gooing on on what you said) because the reactor was too hot and pressure pervented them from compleatly inserting which caused the lid to blow off endureing a esplsion

Supercrafter: Apparently, Workers of Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant pulled a lever that pulled the control rods down. However, those rods could not go down because of steam in the reactor, and those rods went down a little bit. Because of this, reaction in the rods went really fast. Then pressure pulled this rods up, causing extreme reactions in UO2.

den_koshkin: well, I was watching N24, now known as world where they started the test, got the reactor down to a safe 750 MW and then when it was going the reactor dropped in power and the first reaction was to pull the rods out, and then the power got back up but once the rods dropped the power escalated, causing extreme problems such as overheating and it melted down
