@JusticeFighter: Another reason is that Rodney and KG-V had easier to aim, hitting a ship that only can travel in a straight line with 10kts is like shooting on a sitting duck.
add it underwater for more realism.
Not to mention that the experimental precise aiming aid radar was damaged by the Prince of Wales during the battle against the Hood, or it could have done some serious damage to the King George V..
@RCAProduction: No Sir, these Swordfish attacks "only" damaged rudder and propellers of the Bismarck, so that the Home-Fleet was able to catch her. Rodney and King-George-V fought her down. To prevent an explosion, Bismarck flodded theit ammo-magazines, at the same time the Dorsetshire closed in and lauched torpedos. As an effect of the torpedo hits, the magazine-flooding ran out of control and Bismarck finally sunk.
The Bismark was sunk by a squadron of RAF Swordfish Biplane Bombers equipped with torpedoes. The majority of the squadron was killed by flak, however a few aircraft made it close enough to release their torps. Not sure if any made it back, but the Bismark was sunk.
'were gonna sink the bismark' and I dont remember the rest of the song dammit
tbf, Bismarck took out the RN's flagship with just a few opening shots.
add BTRY to make ship flying XD.
This ship was destroyed by 4 battleships, lots of cruisers and even more escorts. The swordfish just damaged it, but when the whole british fleet arrived, the bismarck had no chance.
