    When cooled to 0K, Quartz crystals are super sensitive to pressure. Type in console "!set temp all 0", and then place 1px of anything except for QRTZ (because QRTZ doesn't produce any pressure). The QRTZ will shatter immediately

    New idea: ISOZ reactor, with heat exchanger made of this stuff - really high heat transfer.

    There are more efficient glass configurations for capturing phot. But yours does decently well with neut aswell. Some of the phot/neut is lost to the quartz.

    It DOES make PHOT inside the crystal, when it catches the neut
