    I did not think about it's pronaunciation really, just wanted it to sound "exotc" a bit. I guess it would be something near "Mad-seesh"

    @burtmaclin But they would use a different writing system, no? So they wouldn't use the Roman alphabet. And even if it is a transcription, I would transcribe it as <z>, just saying.

    @self_destruct Chinese commonly uses X for a "z" sound, and I doubt a village on some river somewhere is going to be speaking a language anywhere close to English or other modern languages anyway.

    I doubt it. Rarely any conlangs use the symbol <x> for a /z/ phoneme, because why not use <z> itself?

    Maybe it's pronounced "mad-zesh" like in xylophone.

    Why did you make the Madxesh defy English phonological constraints? Or does your method of transcription involve using 'x' as a different sound?
