I haven't been on TPT nearly as long as anyone else, but you have a wonderful point. What you're saying is so simple and should never have been needed to be said in the first place. In this new age of fear and intolerance we need to come together and be accepting of one another. Kudos to you, sir.
In all honesty, I think this might just be a psychological thing; people tend to remember the past in a more positive light. On the other hand, it's not exactly a bad message, and it can't hurt to try to improve the community. And I too have been around since before 2011, by the way. I think the only thing lacking now is originality, after so many years, it's hard to come up with anything new, so most people just do nationwides, cities and bombs
I think part of the problem is that people in general are far more intolerant now than back then. There might be fewer individual cases now, but people overall have become less forgiving and more critical more quickly.
I agree on this, being here since mid-late 2011 and saves don't have that same feeling anymore despite all the great technological inventions like computers and processors. But the thing about the hate, is not completely true. I remember a case back in 2012 where there was a user who kept copying and spamming hate, he was perma-banned though. But like J1 said, there was a lot more happening back then than now. I literally came back from the dead to post this message and that's saying something.
I actually haven't seen either of those things you mentioned. Maybe more people should be using the report button :P
In any case, given the uncertain state of the world right now, it certainly can't hurt.
