This is a really cool idea. BUT like RCA said, it would need strict and unbreakable limitations on what type of commands it could execute. Possibly even as far as restricting it only to commands beginning with !set (so it could only modify things that are actually paer of the currently-running save).
That was one of the reasons why I downloaded the source code of TPT, looks like I wasn't the only one having this idea then...
Normally people on TPT are fairly kind, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone decided to create a virus of some sort. From the console, they could potentially get login info, delete your stamps or local saves, even delete or copy other files on your computer. They would need to be dedicated, but ti's still possible. Either way I like the idea, and with modification/safety, it could be VERY useful. +1
OK, I like the idea, but it wouldn't work for a few reasons (jacob, please comment): First off, the command it would run would need to be stored in a particle variable which is saved in the PMAP when saved to the disk/server. I guess that pavg[] might work, but it would make saves take up a lot more space than before. Second, the consople, although fairly tame, can still do some nasty stuff to your TPT and even your computer if misused.
@apple, please tell me the forum adress(I just can't found it ;D).
Finally. an element that can accually be useful
