I found this out after trying to make a 2D flying spot scanner for a SSTV.

    you are not right, PROT removes SPRK.

    Cmdr_Hawks is correct. This is very simple - METL allows PHOT to pass through. SPRK, in any conductor, does not. It overrides the properties of whatever is conducting it. SPRK itself is, counterintuitively, a very simple solid element with no reactions, unbreakable, unmeltable and - importantly - it reflects PHOT like most other solids do.

    Erm has anyone noticed that the photons aren't being absorbed they're being reflected off
