-nan has been around for ages on Jacob1's mod, it's an error in temperature that spreads because the simulation can't calculate the temperature of particles next to a particle with a temperature of -nan, setting that particle to -nan. I've been experimenting with it, since it's not a temperature you can do stuff like putting ln2 on lava.
The -nan temperature seems to be both irreversible and contagious for other particles. When a group of particles contact a particle with -nan temp, it spreads rapidly through the particles, setting them all to -nan. The spread of the -nan appears to be related to the heat conductivity. Metals are near instant, QRTZ is very slow and gasses are almost immediate due to the particles mixing. INSL does not change temp when in contact with a -nan particle.
Is there any way to reverse it once it happens? If I remove all the RFGL and !set temp all 100 everything immediately goes back to -nan. What is happening?
So it doesn't break for everyone, because I can't get the -nan temperature neither
nan stands for "not a number"
I remember encountering this issue with a mod a friend gave me. I think it means that there is no more nanny. lol
The ambient heat screws up the pressure as well. Interesting.
