    put INVS around the core; when PHOT goes through INVS it turns into NEUT, and NEUT+ELEC=HYGN, so you could heavily boost the laser output.

    The walls allow all particles out as well as containing the air. It would be possible, tho not all particles would be released, I would probably have to sacrifice neutrons, and maybe i could work out something with titanium, so it might be possible
