Zanthia(the smaller world), was on a collision course with Gaea, humanity's settlements on Gaea were in danger, so they built two giant arms well before the collision, to ''catch'' Zanthia, which was discovered to have an alien race on it; peace was made

    just sayin, the planets rotate on the centre of mass, which is in between the arms, giving them their magnetic fields in a strange way...

    Let me add some reality to this - The arms would break and everyone knows this, they do it anyway, the world goes bankrupt and is burned alive by the planet's impact. Fin.
