    Order the construction of better food transportation networks and once the new troops arrive order the assault on enemy positions, also move some troops back to allow the frontier troops to not use up all the spare food

    Umm Your own food supply is fine, it's a little strained on the frontier, where food reserves have been tapped to allow your men to REMAIN in position. The enemy food supply is unknown.
