After 114 years a rad sensor failed and the stations computer program attemps to wake a crew judgeing that the sensor was sending a false signal. (note from creator: Thanks for front page and let me know if you have ideas in comments!)

    Cost and space can be an issue so to conserve they made it doubble besides to the crew the pasage of time is instant so if something bad happens they send a distress call go into the pods and wate for rescue but reason its like this is the computer didnt send a distress call becuse the crew didnt think it would last more than a few hours or so.

    @jkeller098 why do you need to make shielded cryo-pods when you can shield the whole station, or a part of it?

    the pods are whats shilded besides it would stop cell movement so if all else it would reduce the effects
