  The ships in order to be able to carry enough ammonition for more than 2 shots have to be made even bigger and the cannon designs reworked to be more reliable

  Alright, have them engineered onto the steelclads. I want the engine rooms reinforced with extra plating for protection. Install each of my ships with 2 turrets, each with 3 cannons. The rifle skematics are to be sent back to the mainland to be reproduced in our arms factories. Keep the skematics for both the cannons and rifles top secret.

  so the threat becomes obvious and they can be used as howitzers with some engineering altho rather unreliable ones due to the mobility aspect

  The rifles have been reverse engineered and seem to be magazine (cartradge) loaded semi-auto rifles. The cannons themselves are rather massive and require a lot of maintanance to work properly but when they do they can fire up to 5 km and have a serious chance to sink one of your ships with a single hit, a standard ship of theirs has 5 turrets with each of them having 2 barrels-

  Alright, retreat as fast as possible back to the island. Have the skematics and rifles brought in. I want the rifles reverse engineered and the cannon skematics replicated. Build some testing prototypes of the artillery.

  Yes, one of the 10 ships managed to ram and board one of the battleships, that's how you got to know the strain that the cannons put on the ships and managed to get far enough to relay some schematics of one of the main cannons to another ship before sinking due to too much water alongside with 3 rifles

  However, the ships seem to have gotten damaged by the firing of the cannons themselves, altho not severly but multiple cannon shots might be enough to disable one of the 5 turrets if not get the ship to destroy itself

  10 ships were unaware of the threat and got sank by 300 mm of German steel (yes the country is Germany because why not)
