    It works because gravity is radical which makes gravity go towards the middle

    I think the way it works is that the hot lava releases pressure and then the pressure builds up because the lava creates a sort of pressure chamber and the inner layer solidifies while the outer layer maintains the pressure

    It's indeed the pressure. If you spam '=' (reset pressure), the whole thing just melts and accumulates in the middle like you'd expect it to. What I can't answer right away is 1) why the pressure builds up in the middle and 2) why that solidifies the CRMC.
