Your engineers already have the basics down due to worldwide mutual knowledge of the concept. Your engineers are working on developing a compacted engine that has a smaller apparatus than other common designs. However your scientists are struggling to figure out how to transfer energy from the steam engines into a land vehicle's mechanisms. Communal libraries are being established to improve population literacy.

NuttyMcNuttzz 20th Feb 2020I seem to have some time to spare as it turns out. Have my riflemen shoot at anyone approaching the trench unless they are surrendering. Have my men develop barbed wire and have them deploy it around the trenches. Have the men rush the enemy twice a day, once at dawn, and once at dusk, but have artillery strikes beforehand and afterwards to kill anybody who's left.
