Trade routes are not possible right now due to the extreme distance between empires but there are some rumors of ancient paths that natives have taken for thousands of years. -

Your people are having trouble expanding your empire due to the large forests but they managed to cut some of the trees down and use it for building materials. Basic schools have been built, although they lank funding and most of the teachers are untrained. Gunpowder will most likely be unavailable at least until 500 years later.
