Fiery, trail has been made, although your people have discovered something. The meteor appears to be glowing purple, but your people can't get to it because there is a giant ring of fire that seems to be impossible to extinguish, and burns so hot it seems to melt all metals near it.

Watboi1, your engineers have designed a primitive steam powered turbine which barely provides enough thrust, but it works, and it's fast enough. More research is needed for faster ones. Natural Gas extraction tech is already here, you have high pressure water needed to fracture the ground, but that tech will have to be designed into extracting the gas. Storage currently is in some iron tanks. Machines capable of producing a small amount of steel are being made.
