On June 4, 1989 the Chinese government ordered military personnel to shoot protesters in Tiananmen Square, Beijing. It is estamated that over 5000 people died. This is a reminder to pay homage to those who died come the 31 anniversary of the massacre.

    The meme is that it never happened. It's based off the fact that the Chinese government has tried extensively to cover the event up and censor its existence. In reality, it did take place.

    H2H4: If you take it as a mass murder of protesters, not a way to clear out the protesters and stop shops from getting destroyed and police and others getting hurt. Truth is, both descriptions are biased.
