I'm sorry, what's the problem again? Seriously, it's kind of pathetic that you had to comment that. Do YOU really not have anything better to do? If you don't like it, leave and ignore it. I have free time and I enjoy doing it.
Its plain stupid to mention this in a game. Dont you have anything better to do, really '-'
I do regret, however, not adding more. Ultimately, this list is a WIP. So long as people enjoy them, I will continue to make them. That being said I have decided to add two of the events you mentioned as well as one of my own: The nuclear bombings of Japan, the Yugoslavian civil war, and the Napoleonic wars.
TheNik: I did not intend to make any of these events seem more significant than others. When I first made this list, it was not about a question of which events were most significant but which events I would be able to most faithfully pay tribute to. Naturally, being an American, those events were most connected to the United States and its history. It is also worth mentioning that, as you said yourself, the list would be quite long if I had committed to too many.
This list would be so long that it is impossible to complete it, and pay all due respect to those that would deserve a mention here. As such I strongly believe that those events are best remembered by oneself individually, rather than interfering even more and adding one's own most likely biased opinions, by selectively calling attention to some things and completely ignoring others.
Think of the civil war that created a deep cultural rift between Russia and the Ukraine (countries that were believed to be inseparable before), the one that led to the break up of Yugoslavia, the wars in North Africa that may or may not have caused the emergence of terrorist organizations, the cold war, specific war crimes such as the nuclear bombings of Japan, etc.
To be quite frank, as a European person I am bothered by the strongly US-American perpective on what is significant and what is not, as presented in this save. There were many, many bloodshedding events that have affected other countries no less than some of the ones mentioned here, yet there is not a single note of them.
I would have done one of the babi yar genocide but unfortunately i have no ideas for it.
