    Superbantom, your ships currently can not travel westward, due to strong currents toward the north and weak winds, added onto by the relative simplicity of your ships.

    Build another city. Continue the development of the steam engine. Offer a place in the council to whoever can discover a viable steam engine first. Also further develop and improve our automation methods perhaps by using steam powered turbines to help power the processes. Also begin construction of many underground tunnels that will link the cities together.These tunnels will have fortified structures through it to maintain order, enforce quarantines and repel invaders trying to use the tunnels.

    Begin further selective evolution of crops and cattle in order to increase survivability and yields. If possible, begin expeditions further south using boats in order to bypass the mountains and set off on expeditions to the nearby island to the west.

    Begin searching for a potentially profitable/useful plant (like cotton, tobaco, rice) and start growing them as a cash crop. Build more farms to grow food as well. Start building bigger and better boats that have metal in them to reinforce the structure (for example, metal supports, metal nails, metal fronts for ramming). Start implementing military training, basic combat and shield locking will be taught.

    begin to use machineary and basic automation in every industry possible, encourage most of my nations miners to begin working in the great pit, any homeless should be given homes in the city near the pit and must work there, create better tools for mining and make the great pit even deeper, make branching passages on the side of the pit following mineral and ore veins and reinforce tunnels with wood nailed together with iron nails. do i have steel yet, if i do not begin trying to make it.
