    A SR71 has never been shot down by enemy forces, a MiG-31 may have tried to intercept it, but even it couldn't maintain mach 3 for long enough nor climb up to it's insane altitude.

    @mrcheesburger and it's descendant, MiG-31 is known to have successfully intercepted SR-71 on several occasions

    great but 1 thing, it wasn't succeslfull. the only reason it was made was to stop the sr-71 and it failed

    I love how the Soviet design idea was "take engine(s), put on wings and strap in a pilot", and for some godforsaken reason it's rather effective
