Long awaited, the next in my Remembrance saves. The total number of people enslaved during the 400 year long timespan was well into the tens of millions and comprised mostly those of African descent. Its effects still bleed into today. Don't unpause.

Britain may not have been the first country to abolish the slave trade, but they were the only country to blockade north africa to prevent slave ships from leaving to the US

Racism boils down to people thinking someone else being a lower class, either due to less money, property, mental or physical abnormalities, or due to their skin color. That is the root cause of racism, thinking someone else is inferior due to them being different. But at the end of the day, most of us are capable of anything that anyone else could do. Blacks weren't also the only ones to be true slaves, but at the scale they were enslaved has been unmatched thus far.

'Transatlantic Slave Trade inc.' Whose CEO looks strikingly similar to Kevin O'Leary from the hit ABC show Shark Tank.

The same could be said about other European empires. Yet, slavery on the scale of the TST cannot be observed. Even de facto forms of slavery, like indentured servitude, did not actually include the characteristic of owning someone else as legal property, merely their debt. Besides, what would then be the purpose of racism used to justify slavery if it was just about a difference in "class" or technology?

A difference in technology is the main cause of slavery in my opinion, as blacks didn't have the tech, manpower nor unification needed to resist anyone but themselves, and the upper classes of the blacks were more than willing to sell their own fellow citizens/people to not have to be enslaved themselves, and the money didn't hurt either.

Every institution has its functions and its justifications. You three are correct in accessing the function of slavery to be the procurement of profit, but no society would accept such a horrid institution based on this greed alone. If it were so possible, then they would have done it without the help of race sciences. So, to maintain it, slaveowners would justify it based on race. A difference in class may have been the end result, but only as a manifestation of slaverys segregation.
