Luckily, some people have brains to resist public opinion.
-
I can say why. Society is stupid and hypocritical. They need someone to guilt of their problems, so they choose the weakest.
-
Do we associate them with necrophilia? NO. Because there isn't a drawn line.
-
Also, why is it acceptable to be a zombie fan but not a furry. I suppose it's because they're not in an awful state of half organization... Do we see "Zombie test" and ZombSonas? (ok maybe I've seen a few of the latter...)
-
If you need to distinguish yourself from the majority of furries, why don't you just say "No, I'm not a furry, I'm just a fan of anthropomorphic characters."?
-
Also Hi Jozeff.
-
Or create a wider, more overarching random for fantasy non-human or something.
-
So if someone calls you a furry, you could redirect them to said Discord, or Subreddit. Basically saying "No, I'm not a furry, I'm just a fan of anthropomorphic characters."
-
The naming appeared before the reputation. Honestly, I don't care about how it's called at all. If I like something, it doesn't matter what's its name.
-
So how to I suggest it be fixed? I see two options, neither of which are perfect. First, there's the option of a major rebranding, involving a subreddit or discord server that basically introduces strict rules and content policies. Basically a non-furry community for anthro-fans. Basically drawing a distinction, and avoiding feeding the more... Unsavory side of the group.
