    @StarsMaker: The answer that suits you: Putin wants to annex or destroy Ukraine. The answer that is most likely true: Putin wants to protect Russia from Western (including Ukrainian) aggression. Unfortunately, since Russia was the first to start hostilities, for many it looks like Russian aggression.
