hunter237: Yes, good. But there is an unpleasant moment, both sides have stopped negotiations, which means that everyone plans to win. Now the war will drag on, perhaps until the end of summer, perhaps longer. Ours are clearly not planning to retreat, the Ukrainians too. There will be many victims in the coming months...

Ukraine will definetly become much stronger after the war. It is very true the casulties they suffered were many civilians and many have lost their homes but with the amount of support they are getting they might possibly make a full recovery in 5-10 years. their military might will also grow stronger. I am also not positive on if they are still the poorest country in europe.

I don't know if they are doing fantastic, but not good enough. They reported one of their frontlines collapsed, they had to leave several cities. This is just the beginning.

but Ukraine is doing fantastic despite the lack of a no flyzone, so whilst it absolutely could save lives it may be unnecessary for them to be able to drive them back out entirely. More equipment and civil aid is the way

I'd argue stalin was far more of a manic than putin is. The threat of escalation was there, the Americans had a general can't remember who it was that wanted to use tactical nukes there and just future wars in general. Clearly governments agree with you but I think if it was a U.N based coalition not just nato enforcing it that putin would have to deal with it.

during the korean war both sides were trying to not end the world as a nuclear armageddon was more likely and people were aware of the onsequences of their actions on humanity but now we have a maniac invading ukraine and threatening nuclear war if the US intervenes

Good points, but comment wall so liable to get removed. Also wouldn't be the first time they would've done it during the Korean war soviet pilots went up against Americans, though under China and North Korea and they had nukes then. It's not unfeasible that a no fly zone could go ahead without triggering a third world War.

a no fly zone over ukraine is understandable but shouldnt be applied: zelensky is demanding a no fly zone over ukraine which means the aircraft of 2 nuclear powers that are known to hate eachother would be fighting you can see the problem here as that could escalate quickly and get the world bogged down in world war 3
