(and geostationary orbit altitude is 35 786km, my source had a , in the number, and in french a , in a number is equivalent to a . in english, so my bad)

(the object is indeed in geostationary orbit around Earth, directly above Brittany, just not at the right altitude (also it's 70 000km, not 70km*))

It has an insanely low albedo (0.0004), a low radar cross section and does not show up on thermal imaging most of the time. Also it's altitude is way too high to allow a geostationary orbit (35,79km, the object's being 70km), meaning it has to correct it's trajectory constantly, gas, plasma or radiation emissions are yet to be detected. The exact source of the beam is unknown.

Somewhere in Brittany, a powerful laser is activated, pointing towards space. The beam illuminates the night sky for a few seconds, changing color erratically, then goes out. Days later, a small object is discovered in orbit where the laser seemingly pointed.
