dornog70: I guess it is more based on a standard boiling water reactor (BWR). I did like the chimney though ;). Your reactors are amazing by the way! You pretty much inspired me to create them.

I think the control rod 'issue' is because pipes themselves are technically thermal insulators, so the control rods barely do any cooling when inserted, except for the very tip at the top where it is exposed to the steam. Due to being surrounded on both sides by the pipe...

Thank you for your comment! The control rods are made out of neutron-absorbing material (Gold) and PTCT to reduce the temperature. Steam output is significantly reduced, although a shutdown cooling system is required (not included) to further cool it down
