Just clarify the crash happened much later than 2008. Around late-2009, early 2010 when the server went down and saves were "lost". This wasn't a crash in the sense suddenly the server went down for technical reasons, rather they had moved onto more important things in life. This kind of event is very unlikely to happen now that we have an experienced team at the helm instead of one person managing everything.

There was also a replica of the old server setup somewhere (jacksonmj did that iirc) with the original saves on the previous server.

I have one of the oldest versions where there was no online access and few elements (build date 24.10.2008). Since I was around from the very beginning during the Skylark days (probably why I'm kept around as the Chief Dust Collector).
